And I, for one, am glad that the vodyanoi is no longer an umber hulk.
 

Yeah, there was a sort of completist vibe in the previous editions monster selections. Can't speak for anyone else, but it didn't help my SoD.

ASIDE: Seems to have moved on to classes now (for instance, there seems to be a desire for a divine spellcaster version of every arcane spellcaster).

IMC, all trolls are called scrags. It just seems like a more descriptive name for them. Plus, it allows me to reserve 'troll' for critters which actually resemble real norse-tyle trolls if I wish.
