What's better than d20?

Shadowrun is my absolute all-time favorite! Not exactly because of the mechanics, tho.

D&D3E comes second, I guess.

Other competitors are HERO System and Midgard (a very good german RPG). Deadlands (Pinnacle's original version) is also very good! Never understood, why they had to do a d20 version.

I also like the d6 System (West End Games - Star Wars).
Not sure how the d20 Star Wars compares to it.

I guess I need a copy of Big Eyes, Small Mouths! :)

The only thing I never liked about HERO system is how the skills are handled. They are all too similar. Also a minor problem was, that OCV and DCV were both linked (derived from the same stat). But all in all it's really a great system!

I love running Amber games. Going without dice is a real trip.

For generic games, I like BESM.

For doing what it's designed for, though, D20 is pretty damn good.

(ok maybe CoC)

Go, buy, read, love.

It's great, I never thought 'd play anything but dwarves elves humans and magic stuff hauling ass around the Realms....

But with sceptic players who thought the same as me I took a leap in the deep and bought CoC with a hope for "something else". Good decision afterwards and WELL worth the money. It's great, it's got style, it got lots and LOTS of flavor! And FInally a L O W magic thing that works and to have players play themselves.... that's just sweet..:D

(And it has ALL the rules in 1 book instead of DMG PHB MotP FRCS and shoot I keep going ?:))
