Just a quick rundown on what's coming from RPGO:

  • 1. Supers20 is in layout and the first round of edits have been made to the final.
    2. Chris and I recorded a podcast where we discussed future plans (including talk of future fantasy stuff from us), and a Supers20 specific podcast where we go through the book and highlight stuff we think is cool.
    3. The Whispers in the Dark Campaign Model for Supers20 is done and will appear as a dispatch issue the same month the game is released.
    4. A new version (version 1.2) of Modern20 has been done, just a few tiny tweaks. This will also release the same month as Supers20. This will of course be free for all current owners of Modern20.
    5. Supers20 WWII supplement (working title) is at 21 pages and counting. So far this book includes 2 hero teams, 2 villain teams, and WWII small arms for the Modern20 and Supers20 rules sets. This may appear as one book, or be broken into numerous dispatch issues (probably 3-4). Stay tuned.

A Supers20 WWII supplement? Very cool. I've got an upcoming game using Modern20 that is Indiana Jones-esque and it is set within the WWII timeframe. Will the supplement also include info on magic and possible extra terrestial/planar beings and entities?

Also, will there be a free update pdf for the Modern20 1.2 rules for those that already own 1.0?

Well, the German NPCs are fairly mystically themed, but they're still pretty super-y and probably not suitable for an Indy-style game.

I'd actually say that the Fantasci supplement that we did a couple months ago would be the resource you want for a game like that. Though it's based on the JRPG tradition, it's magic system and especially the creature creator (which has a lot of monsters and rules for making your own in Modern20) would be mine-able for the sort of campaign you're talking about.

I'd also point out that the Whispers in the Dark dispatch is a street-level magic-themed campaign which has the PCs fighting cultists and servants of the Old Gods (by which we mean the Titans of the Greeks, the Vanir of the Norse, and other precursor gods like Hecate and Baal and Mephistopheles).

Absolutely. This is an update, not a new edition. It corrects a few errors in the original, and makes a balance adjustment I decided was necessary from continuing play of the rules (Stars now have a Medium BAB).
