War of the Worlds looks like just another invading aliens disaster movie. Yawn. And I wanted to look forward to Fantastic Four, but that trailer made me wince.

Uh, right. Its only the original invading aliens disaster story, which was written by H.G Wells, one of the fathers of Scifi, back in 1898. Its only the most ripped off scifi story, the most recent rehashing on the big screen being ID4.

Well, duh. My point is that it is the most ripped off SF story. It's been done to death. Add to that the fact that we already know the story, and I just don't think it'll be all that and a bag of nachos.

And while ID4 is the only alien invasion movie of recent times (excepting Mars Attacks!, of course ), disaster movies in general are getting quite blasé. If it gets amazing reviews I might check it out and hope to be pleasantly surprised.
