I bought Geanvue stones of peace last week. Its well put together and has some original ideas like the rumor cards in the back.

I also plan on buying Freeport as soon as it comes out after all you can't have enough good city supplements even if you only use small parts of each.

Also I like to read them.

I finally broke down and bought Geanavue today, LOL. I'll probably buy Freeport, too, along with Lady Dragon (whose opinion above helped to clinch me to just give in and go buy it, LOL).

KENZER: Everyone I've shown the cover to (game shop employee, owner, co-DM) all say there is something indefinably *wrong* with the cover art, either the color scheme or just hate the fat giant (and no one can tell what it's supposed to be!). I made sure not to give my opinion on it first so as not to taint their reaction, just asked for their opinion "What do you think of ths cover art?" Interior art was liked by all, however, and everyone thought the map and rumor cards were great. The undercity map was a definite bonus, unexpected but enjoyed by all. Everyone thought this product was super-detailed and extremely well done, cover gripes aside.

My co-DM in particular thought it was amazing how Ed Greenwood didn't populate the city with a bajillion super-high level NPCs like in FR... Less tweaking for me there, fortunately! Nice to know the PCs can actually affect the course of events in the city without being instantly squashed by Elminster, Manshoon, Fzoul, Szass Tam, Pergeiron, the Simbul, the Harpers, or any one of hundreds of ridiculously overpowered, over magicked 30th+ level NPCs!

Anyway, I'm off to sit down with my well-worn copies of Lankhmar, Baldemar, Ruins of Zhentil Keep, etc., and begin the task of tweaking Geanavue where needed to suit my "edgier" campaign style.

What specifics about the City of the Bat on Geanavue's northern border can you give me? Will this be detailed like Geanavue in a future sourcebook?

Kaptain,

Well, I think someone else answered your question about Gilliia: City of Bats as well as I could have (at least without reprinting portions of the campaign setting). As far as when certain city supplements will come out, it's hard to say. There are quite a few we'd like to do.

Bet Kalamar, for example, would be an amazing product (it's at least several times the size of Geanavue!). Can you imagine the size of that map? Oh, my head... That's probably a 2003 or 2004 release, since it would be so FREAKIN' HUGE! :)

We'd love to get some more established freelance writers on board, so it's possible someone will come up to us and say "Hey! I wanna write [fill in the blank here]!" Otherwise, someone on staff will usually take a crack at one of their favorite lands or cities. I wanted the lich kingdom of the Khydoban, but it's already taken. Grrrr.... :)
