The Dodecahedron is my favorite shape, ao the d12 is the clear winner.

However, fun math fact, the isojedron is the only one of the Platonic solids that was derived mathematically and not observed in nature first.

The d100 is the best because when a player is told that having a skill of 85% means they have an 85% chance of successfully using said skill they seem to understand the odds.

Bah, the percentile die is a roll-under d20 with delusions of grandeur. Edition war!

(More seriously, I remember a friend pointing this out when playing WFRP when we were kids. Fellowship 35% is basically Charisma 7 in D&D 2E non-combat proficiency rolls. It changes how you look at the character, because Fellowship 35% is fairly average while Charisma 7 is “shouldn’t be allowed to make Charisma checks unless it’s an emergency”.)

I do agree.. D12 is probably the best. It just rolls well. I'm a fan of the D4 and the D8, but they both roll terribly, and the D6 is only a little better.

I have a D30 and dislike it. It's too round and rolls too well. It's almost a better ball than a die. D20 fits in between these two rather well.

Honorable mention is the 2D10 system for D100. These dice roll much better than the D8 which has a similar diamond shape, and the added bonus of always being rolled in a pair is rad. Two dice getting chucked against the wall of your dice tray is a great feeling and hard to beat.

I actually like the D8 and I think it rolls decently well. But the D4 just falls flat and slides a bit, very underwhelming, definitely the worst dice.
