Oh, you sonuva...! The local used bookstore currently has it for $50, and I debate with myself every time I go in there. If it's still there in a few weeks, I'm sad/happy to say I'll probably own it. If I can just buy it and sneak it home without my girlfriend finding out...

About six months ago, I had to knock "Game books" off our budget, which was probably a smart idea (no, really, it was!). Until one day, I came sneaking home with a copy of either Complete Scoundrel or Book of Nine Swords.

I put it on my game shelf right away, knowing she never looks there (or has any idea what books I already own), and figured I'd start reading it about a week after I bought it, so she wouldn't notice what was up.

Within a day of buying it, she noticed it on the shelf, and said "when did you get that book...?"

"Um..."

"You just bought it, didn't you?"

"Um... I love you?"

"Nice try, bub."
