What's the best that Monte Cook and Mearls have done so far?

I'm trying to take a gander of what Money Cookie and Mervel have done over the years and pick out the best that they've done so far. I don't have anything for Mervel at the top of my head. But Money Cookie I can say did the first Book of Vile Darkness that I always liked to take a peek at in the local porn shop.

Monte Cook's Arcana Unearthed/Arcana Evolved is a great evolution of the default D20 rules and setting.

Mike Mearls' Iron Heroes which is my favourite D20 variation to date.

Also, would you mind using their proper names as a sign of respect to them as game designers, human beings and occasional fellow board posters?

It's not school, no, but a little politeness like using peoples proper names adds a bit of tone to the conversation and helps prevent things degrading into back and forth bickering.
