Right. Escaping a grapple is an action. Since you WON the grapple check, you have the option to maintain the grapple(and give up further attacks) or take your rake(and, technically, attack damage again) and continue on in your attack routine.
Its ridiculously overpowered, counter-intuitive and not the intention of the rules, but it is RAW.
IOW, a Tiger on a pounce gets to do....

Its debatable whether Grapple Damage is the same as the attack that enables the check or Base Unarmed Damage, but its automatically dealt anytime you win a grapple check.
