Whats the KODT/Muncie Connection?

I've only read a few of these comics, but I understand the characters play in Muncie, IN. What's the story there? Are the authors from Muncie?

It kind of slays me because one of my best friends went to Ball State University in Muncie and I've gamed there many times. Another one of my friends grew up there.

Do the characters ever go to the Wizard's Keep in Muncie? That was a pretty sweet game store back before the internet took off and it was hard to find RPG stuff. It was a classic game store too, hidden away in the basement of a building off of a side street.

I went to BSU from 87-92 (yeah the 5 year plan ;) )
I don't remember the name of the place but there was a great FLGS in the village just above "The Chug" bar (Now that I remember).
What I always thought was great is it had a large table with metal mini's on it layed out in different senarios everytime I went in.
I bought a few things there but I wasn't DM much at the time so I could'nt support it alot.

they are all from Ball State, and most of the locals are in muncie.

The Wizards Keep is still up and running in the Village and the owner looks pretty close to Weird Pete. Well he did last time I saw him a few years ago.

My favorite is the story about Nitro and his nickname. Ball State does have steam tunnels running under campus

Did you see the bit where the real Nitro came up to Jolly at GenCon last year and said, "remember me?" or something to that effect? Pretty funny.

I guess to avoid offending anyone they have their own fictional LGS, the Games Pit, run by the infamous Weird Pete.

Read more KODT!! I think it's now obligatory for RPGers. :p

Seconded. And not to slight the good work done by Eric Mona, but when it came time to choose, I let Dragon lapse and kept KoDT.

If they are all as good as the one's I've read (like the one where the minions they've hired to live in their bag of holding and guard their loot revolt) I'll have to read more.
