What's the most you've ever spent on a single RPG-related item?

Hmm, nowhere near most of you all.

My most recent one was a 70+ dollar order for a bunch of old DDM paper mini maps.

My friend and I have recently started using the paper maps in addition to my extensive Dungeon Tile collection.

I don't think I've ever paid more than about $45 for one large book plus shipping. I've probably spent in the neighborhood of $100 for an order of D&D books, though there's usually non-D&D stuff in there. I've never bought anything for D&D other than rulebooks and dice (and refreshments).

$400 for the original Empire of the Petal Throne boxed set... in pretty sweet condition.

Oops. My wife, who bought it for me as a Christmas gift in 2009, informed me that it was $250 or so. It was the War of the Ring: Collector's Edition boardgame that cost $425.

Probably in the vicinity of $100 for a rare WotC mini when I was still "collecting" every new set that came out. Fortunately I actually ran myself out of disposable income for an extended period and ended that minor obsession.

Edit: Just reconsidered. It would probably be the airline tickets to get myself to GenCon 2000. Couldn't tell you what the actual cost was (several hundred, surely).

I've spent so many thousands on games and minis that I have a room completely dedicated to them. Nerd rep

I've got a second den that is devoted to gaming (and my other hobbies), but I don't count it since it was part of my house, which I own to live in.

OD&D white box (OCE) for 200 euros (in 1999). That just over $260 now - can't remember what the exchange rate. Not the best in the world by global standards, but pretty sweet for a gamestore in Holland back then.

Since then, the only other pricey purchases have been Ptolus, V20, Tome of Horrors Complete, and Slumbering Tsar - all around $120+ with shipping. Some of the Necro boxed sets like Rappan Athuk Reloaded, Wilderlands and City of Brass were around $75,iirc. Besides those, I am incredibly cheap and won't pay more than £15 for a gaming product - so tend to buy 2nd hand.

For one item, $180 for a copy of the Planes of Conflict boxed set from Planescape. I thought it was a bargain, having seen it for much more on eBay.

The listing from the seller was Mint condition, but I didn't really understand. It came in the original shrink wrap.

I'll never sell it, yet months after receiving it, I find I cannot remove the shrink wrap. Is that whacked or what?

EDIT-----

The largest single purchase, including the above, was around $850 or so dollars earlier this year, spent for a large variety (16+ books) of old Traveller (various), Planescape, Dark Sun, and other miscellaneous items I had wanted back in the day but missed out on due to lack of funds. At the time I was feeling I had the money to spare, so I did. Plenty of reading material for me. Plenty of nostalgia to review.
