Okay, someone help me out here. Some time ago (probably about a year), I saw a video of (iirc) the cast of The Guild at some convention (probably Comic-Con) playing an impromptu game at a Q&A session. The actual people and location are not important though (which helps if I have completely misremembered these details!) as I am only interested in the game they played.
It is a simple game that emulates the old text-based adventure games such as the Infocom titles and all others of that ilk. You have one GM figure (called "the interpreter" I believe) and any number of players. Their aim is to reach some goal of the adventure and the interpreter will guide them through that. Everyone needs to use the same kind of language that we used in those old adventure games, so the players would have to say "pick up rope" and the interpreter would reply with "you pick up the rope". Then "use rope" and "you cannot use that item here"! All that kind of caper.
I looked into this at the time and liked the look of it but never went any further with it. Now that I want to, I can't for the life of me remember any more details than I have included here! I have been googling for something but what I have to work with is a bit vague. So, if anyone knows anything more - and a URL would be ideal - please put me out of my misery.
