Oathbound has more pages, but BotR has a bigger bond so it seems bigger. But there things are HUGE! Does WotC not share who the binder is? Why is FRCS thinner than both of these with the same number of pages? Cost cutting?
Nitpicking here to be sure, but Oathbound is larger than the Realms by 32 pages...
Binding size varies based on the paper used and the binding type used. The thickness of the board for the hardcover also makes a big difference.
In any event, we made Oathbound into one big book because setting books should be as complete as possible. Sure, we could have released it 96 pages at a time over the course of a year and done the same thing, but we wanted it to be a useful, durable, long-term resource for the campaign.
