Mine's the Valdemar series by Mercedes Lackey. More then any other fantasy author she goes into the personalities and relationships of her characters. Most fantasy are event driven books, but hers are character driven most of the time.

I'll second that one. I tend to call it the Velgarth series, since it's not all set in Valdemar, but yeah.

And her new Exile's Honor was just released. Another good, character driven book. I wonder who she'll focus on next?

Velenne, the Discworld books are a series of stories in a fantasy setting that are a humorous satire of just about everything. each novel may comment (or focus) on religons/beliefs, holidays, movies, politics, pop culture and on and on.

as Andrew D. Gable mentioned, each book will focus on a different character or set of characters (Rincewind, the Wizards, the Witches, the Guard, Death).

i've recommended to all of my friends to start reading the series from the begining (The Colour of Magic), but you don't have to. in fact, i think the series gets better with each book. Carpe Jugulum, Interesting Times, and the Thief of Time (the last one, IIRC) are my favorites (--hysterically funny!)

I've enjoyed most of the Prachett books and those by Eddings, loved the Thieves World series (probably because of the variety of authors) but my all-time favortite is still LotR (if that counts for these puirposes as a series). Perhaps because it was my first. :)

I don't have that one yet... Who's it about? From the title, I'm gonna guess Albriech?

Ya, it's all about Alberich. It just came out this week, I beleive.

THieves World is another great series. I'm also happy they are bringing it back. I hope that someone releases some more RPG material for it.
