What's your screen name from?

What does your EN World screen name come from?

My real name is Algernon Q. Thristwhistle, but I wanted something more exotic-sounding for a forum nickname. ;)

The whole Henry VIII shtick came by thinking of famous Henrys, and figuring that he would fit a board dedicated to D&D the best; not many people are familiar with Henry the Navigator, or Henry VII, or Henry of Navarre. :)

My screen name is my favorite Japanese weapon. Tetsu = iron, bo = club/staff. So an iron staff. Like myself it is large, slow and blunt.

My screen name is a subtle pun on my previous job...

No, it has nothing to do with mixing drinks.
And no, it has nothing to do with lead.

It's more about babysitting antimatter.

Hmm I voted for ‘something complete different’.

I use the same name everywhere. And this is the story of me.

I used to be Timber Rogue at the WotC boards – but that was just an excuse to be silly. Then I started to like the boards and then found here. So I said to myself ‘Ben you need to get a good screen name’.

SO I like cartoons, and at the time I was rather into the Tick. But that was taken, so then I tried Arthur. Taken.

Then a little voice inside me said ‘Just be Sidekick’. And I am, I use it one every RPG realted message board that I frequent.

Belatedly I also figured out that it could mean an actual SideKick. Which is fine by me as I’ve been doing martial arts on and off now for about 15 years. Its kinda funny, ‘cause Sidekicks are my personal demon, I struggle with them all the time. Them and high roundhouse kicks. I’m just not made to kick higher that chest height I guess.

In fact my neato Sialia made avatar is the Hapkido Eagle holding an arrow. A central image and ideal of the art.

Anywho – that’s why I’m sidekick

Hello ENWorld. I registered back before the great wipe, but my 8 or so posts got killed in that cataclysm of data loss. So I'm back again to give it another shot.

I voted "An NPC that I ran in a campaign," but Stormtower is actually a reference to the building in which the NPC lives. The NPC in question - Alec Al-Zaneida, the (self-proclaimed) Lord of Air and Darkness, erected the Stormtower after his redemption at the hands of the PCs in the climax of an old campaign. He is the closest thing I have to a DM avatar, but he rarely ventures out of the tower anymore, preferring to leave things to the younger generations to deal with. These days he serves as a horizon watcher and an occasional confiscator of forbidden technology.

Thought about it, but figured enough people probably wouldn't get the reference. Maybe for a holiday or something I might change it...

Henry V is my personal favorite - because it's also my favorite play.

A tribute to a character I consider the "inner me" from the British '80s sitcom The Young Ones. Poor Vyvyan is trapped inside this straight-laced accountant's body. :(
