When D&D Huge minis again?

Mjollnir

First Post
Does anybody know/suppose/suspect if WotC is planning to launch a new serie of Huge minis as in Giants of Legend set? I've seen some Large ones in Aberrations and there'll be more in Deathknell, but how about new huge ones, ie: Titans, Nalfeshnee demon,... Thanks for replies and sorry if not proper forum.

I would predict that the October release will probably contain the next Huge set, but do not take that as gospel.

I believe the October release is Underdark, and though we haven't heard much about it, I don't think its the next Huge one. I kind of doubt that they'd release both a D&D and a SW Huge set around the same time, too.

Apparently at Winter Fantasy they were saying that they were aiming at standardizing the release dates after Set 7 (Angelfire). Aiming for first week of November, March, and July.

Deathknell (Set 6) is March 25th
Angelfire (Set 7) is expected late in July (Although Wizards lists it as June)

Underdark (Set 8) would be November 4 if they get it on schedule. This would also include a starter set. Possibly a huge set as well (no denial or confirmation).

Unknown Set 9 would be March, 2006 and also a possible huge set.

They have said they are trying a new distribution with the next huge set. Originally GoL was slated as Huge pack and booster. A huge in the starter might be another option.

There have been rumors of a gargantuan or colossal figures for Star Wars and D&D, in non-random packs. It would be an AT-AT for SWM and something left mysterious for DDM. Don't know when they'll be released.

I thought the designers have said no huge minis in 2005.

Merric should be able to confirm or deny this.

I love the huge minis and would like to see more.

Giants of Legend, the first huge set, was the 4th set. With the 5th (Aberrations), they redesigned the whole thing (new rulebook, new starter set, new tiles, new card style, several rules changes). Maybe the 8th set (the 4th of the "new line") will be Huge. This would be underdark, then.

They could do a couple of underdark-related huges (shadow dragon, deep dragon, a dracolich) as well as others (they never adher too close to the theme of the set, anyway)

That would rock. I mean, we really need those terrasques and great wyrms, as well as a couple of other legendary beasts.

I thought of this myself, but only as some idle speculation, never really thinking they'd do it. I'd support it, though

Time requirements for production aside, I think WotC will be missing the boat if they put out huge figures next March as opposed to this November. X-mas sales should never be underestimated, especially considering the pent up demand for huge minis that has been building since the last set.

Who cares if they've already announced the Underdark set. Push it back and make another huge set. Business School 101: Give the people what they want!!!
