Powers with duration generally last until the end of an encounter. Do we know yet whether there are hard rules on what that means?
What made me think of this was the Angel of Vengeance in the most recent excerpt. It can mark an opponent with one of its powers, and then until the end of the encounter, teleport adjacent to that opponent as a move action. If the whole party teleports away, does that necessarily end the encounter, or can the angel just use his teleport power to show up again next round?
More simply, say the party is running away from some generic enemies. Some powers might make the pursuit harder or easier, or change characters' movement speed. Is there a specific point when those powers wear off? Or do they just last until the PCs finally lose the enemies and are no longer being pursued? That could take many minutes, or maybe even hours in some rare cases. (If the pursuit is happening out on the featureless grasslands, and movement rates are basically equal, it won't be easy to get out of longbow range.)
