When Monsters Mark

Hey all-

Some monsters, such as skeleton warriors, have a marking ability. What does that mean, exactly? Do their marks have the same effect as that of a fighter, such as -2 if the target attacks someone other than them, etc? And where in the core books is this clarified?

Marked is a condition, it's effects are on page 277 of the PHB.

The default effect is -2 on all attacks that don't target the creature who marked you.

Make sure to remind the players about that. No fair penalizing them for factors they aren't aware of.
