When the DM seems to be offering to let you cheat

I usually do this when I have players who are not that comfortable or knowledgeable about the rules yet. At some point in time, as they play moer, I will warn them that I will no longer be prompting them to make sure they have all their bonuses added and it is their responsibility to do so.

I would not mark this as a prompt to cheat.

Wow, you certainly have a different style. As a DM, I worry that I don't kill my players often enough or with sufficient brutality.

More on-topic, I generally just ask along the lines of, "Did you add your charge bonus?" Then the answer will either be yes or no, there will be no weirdness, and the game will move on.

No, not in my eyes. Looks like the DM is getting worried that some people might start getting killed, or is exasperated at my crappiness, and is hoping we'll do better.

As a DM, I've done the same thing, and my players know what I'm getting at.

Would you take such prompting as a chance to cheat? If you thought so, would you take the chance?

nah. i would take it as the DM making sure i got everything right.

i suck at the rulz.

but if it would be a chance to cheat. i would say so out loud.

DM: are you sure?

Me: (checks numbers) yup

DM: are you sure, you are sure?

Me: Huh? Do you want me to cheat?

reason.... there was a guy in our group that cheated every single time he rolled. not occassionally.. but always. even my suckatude at the rulz picked it up. he was so blatant. we made fun of his... Natural "20" calls.

Well, when I was young and new to the game, I did kill several players. But everytime I did that, I had to move to a new city and find new players. I realized I was doing something wrong, and then just kept my killing to the characters. So now, I keep the same players and just cycle through new characters after TPKs.

You, sir, have just been sig'd.

I will sometimes ask if my players are forgetting any bonuses usually because they're forgetting some sorta a modifier and I don't just want to come out and say it but want them to figure it out on there own (sometimes I'll just tell them). Conversely though I'll remind of penalties straight up.
