Ghosts of Dragonspear is easily converted. The first chapter works as a stand alone for 1st level characters. Just change the McGuffin to something else.
I have to echo the suggestion about the Starter Set adventure (Lost Mine of Phandalin): it's excellent, and even though it comes in a box with some stuff you may never use, it's worth the price.
