I have bought enough RPG books that if I spent the additional 30% (which is what my average discount has been) I would have spent another $900.00+ on my library of RPG books. That is one and a half mortgage payments for me. Well, more like 1 and a 1/3. I'll keep shopping where it is cheapest.

And that is your choice. No big deal. I was just trying to explain why I buy from the FLGS and why I believe that the higher prices are still worth it for me and others who buy from similar establishments. While some people's "Buying brick and mortal prices is just plain stupid" elitism attitudes are old, tried, and lame, blindly playing the "Support your local game store so the hobby continues to thrive" card is not always applicable either. It's all a matter of evaluating prices vs. services. We use the FLGS to play at and hang out at, so it is worth it.

Same principle as buying beer at the discount grocery store and taking that cheep beer into the local pub who sells it there as primary income. It's just rude, cheap, and lacking in class.

No LGS of any stripe in my area. Choices are Barnes & Noble or Waldenbooks for walk-ins. Given that, I usually go to Amazon.

When I had a LGS, I tried to go there most of the time.
