Where do you read about the demon princes?

Hi,
I relation to the article in the latest Dragon Magazine about the classic demon princes, where have you read about those creatures before and their planes before? Other Dragon/Dungeon Magazines, TSR books?
I am really interested in reading more about both the princes and the planes of hell, but I do not know where to look. Any guidance would be highly appreciated!

I believe the Book of Vile Darkness has a lot of 3e information about the demon princes though I don't own that work. The princes and the planes of Hell first appeared in the 1e Monster Manual, Monster Manual II and Manual of the Planes, not to be confused with the 3.0 version. There's plenty about them in Planescape products.

I guess I will have to find some Planescape product to look at.

Among the Planescape products, Faces of Evil and Planes of Chaos are the best sources. For 3E products, you should look to the Book of Vile Darkness. On the Internet, check this out.

My favorite resource for the nobility and powers of the Lower Planes is Green Ronin's Book of Fiends. IMO the personalities and creatures are much more interesting than in anything WotC has released. Book of Fiends is a "monster book," but there's an entire Lower Planes mythology hidden in pieces in the descriptions. (The mythology ties in with that in GR's Book of the Righteous, as well.)
