Where in the SRD or core books are the "ray" rules?

I'm having trouble finding the words that describe how "ray" is a ranged weapon type, and that it follows from that that they get the benefits of point blank shot and can be weapon focused. I know they are there, but I'm struggling to find it.

try Compelte Arcane, page 86, under the heading of "weaponlike spells" and page 72-73 (same book) for a list of eligible feats to be used with them

Thanks. So it's no-longer "rays", but rather just "ranged spells" or "touch spells." THat bit of clarification helps.
