D&D 5E Where is the Hippopotamus in 5e?

There really should be a creature that is to the hippotomus that is not unlike the aurumvorax is to the wolverine.

I played a wild mage named Tim Tim who got permanently transformed into a hippo by a wild surge and was slowly forgetting he was a human, until finally the other PCs just released him into the wild. One of the best end of characters ever!

As for the other question

Prehistoric hippo relatives used to live on the British Isles back in the day. Hippopotomus antiquus. Larger than the modern hippo but not the biggest hippo. It was also more aquatic than the modern hippo, prefering water plants over land plants. Mind it was also warmer then, and once glaciers showed up, hippos were forced south

Use elephant trample, and maybe their gore attack, or the bite of an alligator or crocodile as an approximation.

Giff are tall, broad-shouldered folk with hippo-like features. Some have smooth skin, while others have short bristles on their faces and the tops of their heads. As beings of impressive size and unforgettable appearance, giff are noticed wherever they go.
Storytelling is a rich tradition among giff, and it’s not uncommon to see a giff recounting their past exploits to an enraptured crowd. Having a friendly giff nearby when a tavern brawl erupts can also be useful, for a giff can usually more than hold their own when pleasant revelry devolves into fisticuffs.
The giff are split into two camps concerning how their name is pronounced. Half of them say it with a hard g, half with a soft g. Disagreements over the correct pronunciation often blossom into hard feelings, loud arguments, and headbutting contests, but rarely escalate beyond that.
