You're pretty much out of luck in New England, as far as I know. All of the good game stores in the Boston area are extremely inconvenient for parking and interstate access. There's a few stores in Conn. & Western Mass. near I-91 but parking will probably still be an issue. At any rate, they are Dragon's Lair in West Hartford, CT and West Springfield (I think), MA and the Space-Time Continum in Northampton, MA.

Not out of Luck in New England....

The Citadel Games, Rt. 12 in Groton, CT.

Take Rt 12 south from the Interstate (I-95) about 1 mile. Store is on the right, between Ponderosa, and Burger king.

You won't be able to park there, but about 1/8 of a mile on your left is a very large shopping plaza where you could certainly park (behind the groundround).

Jumpgate, Rt. 1 Portsmouth, NH

From I-95, take a left off the ramp, go about a mile to McDonalds and the Travel America truck stop, take a left onto Ocean road. Go about 1 mile to the end of Ocean road, Jumpgte is in the shopping plaza where you see the Wendy's. You probably won't be able to park there, but walmarkt is 1/8 of a mile North on Rt. 1.

I thoooought there was a Complete Stratagist near King of Prussia. Is that still there?

I sure hope there is; I used to walk there when I did my undergraduate work at Villanova. Still, I recall a small parking lot on a fairly narrow road.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX
Armchair Commanders, in Corpus Christi TX, is very close to a major road. Take I-37 into Corpus Christi and get off on South Padre Island Drive (S.P.I.D.). Get off at Everhart road, and park in the Wal-Mart lot ahead on your right (assuming that you got off the interstate and are driving Southbound). The store is a few minutes walk away at the intersection of Everhart and Williams (within easy sight of the expressway) in a shopping Center with a Sherwin Williams paint store.

CHATTANOOGA, TN
Get off I-75 at exit 4 (Hamilton Place Mall). The Gameboard store is on the second level in the main mall, and carries a surprisingly large selection of games. Nashville has a couple of good game stores, but I don't recall one near the Interstate.

Dragon's Lair in Round Rock, Texas, is less than 100 yards off I-35. It is in a large shopping center with plenty of parking for your rig.

The is also a Titan games about a block north of the of the Hwy 41 exit on 285 (north loop), but while its close to the highway its not in a truck friendly spot. Here's a link to the yahoo directions and a phone number.

Wow, there's a DL in West Hartford? (There's War and Pieces in WH, but it is *not* accessible.) Found it on anywho.com. It might be someplace that Michael Morris could get to. The good news is that's in the vicinity of Home Depot, a couple major car dealers, and some shopping centers. Bad news is lots of stoplights. They might meet the requirements. I suggest calling them at local phone number 860.231.1915.

Ditto Space-Crime Continuum. Wonderful store, but Northampton has bridges on two of the three major roads into town that will nail his rig. The third road is not really truck accessible that I recall, but they do deliver to the 7-11 across the street, or they did when I lived in town. IIRC, the best way to get there is to get on North King Street southbound to King Street from Exit 21 on I-91 Southbound (the Big Y Plaza exit). But I think that excees his mileage goals by being around 3-4. Not to mention which, I don't recommend driving a semi or greater in N'ton unless you have to. Now, there's a store off I-91 in Greenfield MA, but they moved. I'll check it out and report back.

You'll have to get on I 74 (going East or West, whichever). This is just across or before the Mississippi River, depending on which direction you're coming from. Get on the exit for Avenue of the Cities (or 23rd Ave, they just renamed it to Avenue of the Cities a few months ago, so I'm not sure if all the signs are changed yet). Turn east onto the Avenue of the Cities. This will be a busy strip. After a couple minutes, you'll see three stores all together in one building on the left side of the street, like a tiny brick strip mall. There's only one sign that's easily seen coming down the street, and that's the one for a foreign car parts store. The other two stores in the building are a bridal/dress shop and the Dragon's Sanctum. It's the middle store and has a large green dragon painted on the window.

Now, you can't park there. Keep going until you see a large strip mall on your right, a bit past a school. It has a defunct Hy-Vee, and tons of space in the parking lot. It'll be about a 10 minute walk back to the store. They have a great selection of all types of gaming systems, also including miniatures and board games. But the greatest thing is that they run lots of games in the back room, and you can drop in for a night of gaming if you feel like it. If you want to call the store, they can tell you when the games are and what levels they are at. I've seen everything on their calendar from 3e D&D to Shadowrun to HeroClix. Best of luck!

I am assuming your getting online to enworld here either via parknview, or a truck stop internet kiosk, or go a laptop and using it with a phonejack inside the truckstops.

This site has the best online format for play-by-post games...they also have web chatrooms for irc gameplay too.

You should check the site out, you can even lurk in some games to see how some of them are run. Being a trucker this site is your best bet for playing and running games and getting your gaming fix over-the-road. Some games have play-posting rates of once a week and others are multiple daily posting. You'll find games in just about every rpg game system out there running and even many freeform games.

Many folks dont like play-by-post or irc gaming but this site is done from the ground up for this type of stuff and is the BEST your going to find.

I think you will love this site and it will save oyu time trying to figure out how to get into game shops that may or may not run live games in-store.

The only bad thing I see for you is if your using the internet kiosk instead of parknview(or whatever its called now) or if your bringing your laptop into the truckstop and theres no local number for AOL, Earthlink or whatever your using. As that kiosk can eat into your wallet pretty fast.

Anyhow http://www.rondaksportal.com is something I highly recommend for any rpg'er who travels over-the-road as a trucker or RV enthusiast.
