Where is your FLGS? Is it near an interstate?

First off, as an Alaskan, I take immense offense to that statement. Last time I checked, there were 50 stars on the flag and fifty states in the union.

Maybe I missed a memo.

:)

Now that that's out of the way, my FLGS is in Aurora, CO. It's called Attactix. It's not too far off I-225, and there's stuff going on there all the time.

Rather than post directions (since I don't know where you'd be coming from), I'll post a link. You can do the rest.

Good luck!

When it comes to truckers you either run dedicated, regional, 48 states, or your a border runner (canada, alaska, and/or mexico)

When a trucker says they run the 48 it means they dont go to alaska, canada, or mexico. As a trucker needs a special permit to go into canada, even its its just to cross over to alaska, and the laws on comercial drivers entering Canada is very strict there is not a large number of CDL drivers that can or even want to go into canada. A guy could have missed a single alimony or child support payment, a speeding ticket, a ticket for spitting on the sidewalk, many many things will keep a driver from the USA being able to get ito or through Canada. Many US trucking companies dont even bother with hauling to alaska or Canada for that reason. Why bother with it when your driver and your load can get detained for several days and not even get across the border becuase the driver paid a fine 20 years ago because he dog was not on a leash in the park or he setoff some firecrackers or sparklers on the 4th of july? The companies that do go to alaska or canada from the lower 48 states normally have drivers who only drive in canada and meet other drivers just this side of the border and swaps loads out with goods leaving canada for the goods going in. Its that bad trying to get drivers into canada. Why? Because in Canada many things someone could possible get a fine for without it being a 'real' criminal type thing(getting a fine for not having a fishing or hunting permit, that speeding ticket you got when you where 17 and now oyur 50 and been driving with a clean record for 30 years) is considered felonies in Canada and you cant drive a comercial vehicle in canada if so. And you can get tied up for 2 or 3 days easy trying to get into canada while they run state, local, and fbi checks on the driver. Its pretty silly but true.

anyhow that was a bit of an overkill explanation and rambling, but anyhow thats what he meant by driving in all the 48 states. Maybe his company doesnt go into canada, maybe he refuses to deal with the headache of going into canada, or maybe he got fined 15 years ago for peeing on a fence behind the 7/11 :p :D :p

The Game Castle in Londonderry, NH

Take a left off of exit 4 on Route 93 N. Go through a bunch of lights, its in the Crossroads Mall, which is on the left hand side, after a Dunkin Donuts, at the corner of Rt 128 (Mammoth Road). Its a strip mall with plenty of parking.

I don't hang out there because the wife works at another game store. The people are nice and all though :)

I go to Atlas Comics, right off 29, just north of Charlottesville VA, on the south bound side. Its in the Rio Hill shopping center, which has a big lot and shares an intersection with a Lowes. There might be a truck entrance, as I don't remember seeing many trucks go in the main entrance. I'll ask around, see if I can find out.

It's mainly a comic shop, but it has a good RPG section. If you talk to Bo, tell him Ichabod sent you.

Wow, there's a DL in West Hartford?

Yes.

I've only been there once (Jan 2002) but when I was they had a really good selection, both of new materials and used stuff. Much better than the one up by Springfield, IMHO.

Sci-Fi City, Orlando,FL.

Hello,

Lived in Orlando,FL for 5 years so I would recommend my ex-FLGS Sci-Fi City very highly. It's off East Colonial about 4 miles east of I-4. I know for a fact they are ok with trucks(I've seen the delivery trucks in there !!) as it is located in a Home Depot car park(in fact I think the shopping area is called the Home Depot plaza) They also have a pretty good Pizzeria and cafe in there too in case you need a munch. The store itself has got a full range of DnD stuff along with other roleplaying games too. They organise games and even strategic wargamming like Warhammer40K and Fantasy Battles and have broad band linked PC's for customers to use for gaming, which I'm sure they would let you use to keep in touch with your favorite website !!! ENWorld of course....Very simple to get to as you would just take I-4 north or south depending on which way you were coming from and then when you see the "Colonial" exit make sure you head east and just follow the road till you see the Home Depot sign. There are a number of restaurants and other shopping plazas etc.. on the way so you can even stop off and shop if you like too. Oh well hope that helps...bye for now and happy truckin, I am currently thinking of training for a HGV(Heavy Goods Vehicle) License in the UK. Just need to get a sponsor or the money, which ever comes first :D

The Source is a good store if you are in MN. It is about 2 mi from 35W and maybe 3 from 35E. There are always games of some sort going on. Miniatures, board games, card games, and role playing. Here is a link with an address. It is attached to a furniture store and an appliance store. The large lot on the side of the appliance store is always empty (the spaces near the FLGS are always full with customers).

The Source is by far the BEST gaming store I have ever been to, and I have been to quite a few in various locations. Every time I go to MN I make sure to stop on by, and when I lived there I was there on an average of twice a week, though I visited it for the first time years before I live there. It is worth going to MN just to go there (though I guess there are some who might want to go to Mall of America on the other side of the Twin Cities ;))
