D&D 5E (2024) Where Would You Place A Bastion?

So the PCs are level 3.5 and we will he using bastions at 5th level.





They have been doing various jobs for factions.


V. Vermeillon. From a Deep and Creeping Darkness in Candlekeep Mysteries. Has a platinum mine and various dilapidated buildings to restore. Smells like dead Meezels.

L. Lost Library of Lethchauntos. From Sfventures at Faerun. Free library and s dungeon.

X. Stag Lords Fort. From Pathfinder:King Maker. Close to the Stone Bolt Trail, Olegs Trading post and Halfhap the nearest settlement of any size.

PC will be going into Anauroch later. Potentially more bastion locations.

My group took over a small hamlet outside Leilon. We ran through the After Icespire Peak series that helped rebuild the town and I places a few abandoned hamlets around it. I found a map on Dyson's Logos. They need to rebuild it, but the bones are there to explore and customize.

It seems like your group is traveling quite a lot. I might suggest a place close to a city where you can access teleportation circles. If it is just used on the player side, then it can be in the city, but if the DM had access to create adventures with it, then a couple days from a city is better.
