It's essentially some kind of scrying. For some extra money, you had some kind of focus and could scry on the weapon by simply concentrating on the focus in your hand... I think it was in one of the newer FR books but couldn't find it. Can someone help?
I think it was a Wizards' web feature, I can't recall the exact name offhand, but it was about magic items that a DM can give his players that might be a mixed blessing.
