Which books does your group use while gaming?

What book do you use while gaming? I mean those books that you use during the actual session, not those books you design your characters with.

As for my group we use FR Campaign Setting, Player's Guide to FR and the book on Silver Marshes. (That is normal I guess because we are currently playing a game centered in the Silver Marshes.) Apart from that we use Tournaments, Fairs and Taverns for the occasional drinking I think ;)

We pretty much use just the spell listings from the PHB, and occasionally the item listings from the DMG. If a character is using spells from another book that gets used as well.

In the Eberron game I DM, it's just the core books and the ECS. In the homebrew game I'm a player in, it's just the core books. Even though some people in each group have feats from the Complete books, we know the details well enough to not need to reference them.

Pretty much 3.5 core books only, with Unearthed Arcana on hand to check some of teh variants we are using at the moment. FRCS to look up the deities in a solo game I'm DMing (the baldur's gate storyline - he really likes it).

Spellcasters typically have calculated spellsheets, so unless there's a detailed question we don't open rulebooks much during the game. Otherwise it's core rulebook (PHB or AU and Eberron CS as appropriate), the occasional DMG for magic items, and any extra spell/magic books allowed (Magic of Faerun being the most common one I see at various games, including Greyhawk and homebrew).

The books most often used by the PLAYERS would be two books I created for them. They are: 1) comb-bound copies of the spells for a given class, including spells from sources other than the PH; and 2) a compendium of additions for my campaign. The Curmudgeon's Compendium has new races, new feats/talents, new equipment, quick spell guide, and a combat cheat-sheet. About the only person who takes out a PH during the game is me, and I am the DM.

Generally the three core books, though sometimes the Pocket PHB instead of the full one, Tome of Horrors II when I've used a creature from it and if its a published module then the relevant book or magazine.

We keep a bunch of books around besides the 3 core ones, but I am the DM I encourage players to forget about books, and just keep their character sheet, with at most a few photocopies or print-outs of character stuff (for example if they're using a non-core race, class or spells) instead of the big book.
