Which Came first?

Ahem... Me or the Forgotten Realms Group...

I've just started playing Icewind Dale 2 and was overjoyed at the fact that one of premade parties was named after me!! (Sisters of the Blood Moon)

Well, anyway, roleplaying ego aside, I did some research and found that there was a group of werewolf type creatures of the same name in the FR book. So my question is this.

Someone who has read the FR novels and other assundries, can you tell me when was the first reference to the name Blood Moon and was it any time before January 1999? Or did somebody like my online name so much, they had to 'borrow' it for the game?

I might have to go by the Elven version if I'm not careful

Blood moon isn't really a new idea, just go to an internet search engine and type it in and see how many different things come up.
