Of the core choices, I'd pick cleric. I'd love to be able to heal people, and aspire to "put a stopper on death," to quote Snape.

Of the non-basic classes, I'd totally pick bard. I've a fondness for trivia, history, and I'm already a musician of sorts.

I daresay that anyone who says that Fighter and Thief are easier than Mage and Cleric has never seen active combat (particular active melee combat) or done any kind of complicated larceny.

I picked Mage because it's the closest match to my attributes, personality, and some measure of my real-life talents. Other than a vicious knack for Sneak Attack, I don't have any of the necessary qualities for either the Fighter or the Thief.

In Dream Park though, fighting and thievery are explicitly outlined as easier than the others. It says so in the first book, which is why um...Gryphon (is that the main character's last name?) is slotted as a thief I think when he's told to investigate the criminal shennanigans occuring in the park. He's not a gamer, he's given the easiest job to perform amongst some hardcore gamers who all had to get the approval of the party leader to get their slots in the newest and most difficult games. Anyways, it's not real combat. They're swinging holograms at actors and other holograms, and they stick their "picks" into things and it just happens. Dream Park isn't real, it's an amusement park - amusement would be pretty difficult if people were participating in real combat.

It's more like LARPing with the coolest, most expensive props you can imagine with Steven Spielberg running your game (because part of the way they make up the cost is by turning your game into a movie).

Definately a thief. The nimbleness is here; I take stuff from my friends all the time just to see if theyll notice (i of course give it back), sneak up behind friends with mock-garrote tools, and tend to *get* people when they least expect it. The strength for a figher isnt in me, nor the religious nature for a cleric. I think i could pull of a mage, but thief seems to fit me perfectly.

Warrior. I'd be best with more Dex-y weapons though than huge axes and swords. Ranged weapons are my thing usually. Ranger I guess would be more like it.

Well,
I'm sure like many others, I PERSONALY don't want to get hit with a big ass sword, or have some abomination drool cristy puss all over my head, so if I had to choose one, it would be the one that gets hit by foes the least. Mage. I'll stay in the back thanks. Does that make me a wuss?

No, since there's no big ass swords that are more than stage props in Dream Park. Most of them have break away hilts, so you can actually fight with just the holograms of the weapons.

Oh. Well that definitely changes things then. I'll switch to Cleric, as I get to wear sweet armor, bash things AND cast neat offensive spells!

Sure, you mages can rend the fabric of reality, clerics heal the body and the soul, and the thieves are the richest around...

But the shining knights, musclebound barbarians, and suave swashbucklers are the guys who get the ladies.
