Also, "has the most lore" isn't a compelling argument for a TV show being appealing or successful. Friends and Seinfeld have almost no lore, especially in the first seasons of each.

Jerry is a stand-up. Elaine and he used to date. They're friends with George. Kramer, the next door neighbor, is weird.
90's media landscape and comedy show by an extremely popular comic is far cry from today's media landscape and what's successful...having a deep well of lore to explore is a good thing. The biggest problem will be showrunners who think they need to go off on their own tangents than staying true to that lore (The Witcher, Halo, Rings of Power just to name a few). The upside to a D&D setting is that isn't a big of a deal as long as the stories are good and the lore is close.

Dark Sun then Birthright.

Although, probably should put this in unpopular opinion thread, I like Golarion better than most D&D settings.
I don’t know the lore well, but I was put off initially by the whole “icons” thing.

However, I would hope it would be a better since we know so much more about RPG settings now. I think that is also why Eberron and Nentir Vale stand out for me (and for different reasons)

Golarions better than most generic D&D settings but I still wouldn't use it for s D&D show for same reason as the others.
Generic fantasy doesn't do well outside LotR and maybe Harry Potter (not sure if HP counted as generic in the 90's).

Icons? The iconic characters for the adventure material? I enjoy reading about them but largely have gone ignored in my Golarion games. I thought the Inner Sea Guide was one of the best setting books I have purchased.

Between the adventure paths and PF society, I got a wealth of knowledge and experience that is pretty rare, imo, in the RPG space. I think the welath of stories would make for an excellent cinematic universe. Also, a series about Pathfinder Society would be like fantasy Indian Jones, which yes pelase!

I dont think Golarion is generic, it can be, but its got some pretty out there options and stories.

Icons is the wrong term then. It was the setting superpowers that you were supposed to have a relationship too. Maybe I’m thinking about a different game - it has been a long time since I looked at it

That make sense for this thread, just not my taste

It does true. It's probably a better option than the other generic worlds.

Ravenloft and Eberron would be my picks (note I don't like Ravenloft) and if budget isn't as much of an issue Darksun (more R rated direction think Mad Max Fury Road) or Spelljammer become options.

Birthright as well but could run into highlander/GoT knockoff comparisons.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be down if some studio decided to throw money at it...but I'm skeptical of a live action show being able to pull it off satisfactorily.
Fair. Definitely don’t want sci-fi channel original level quality, as much as I loved Warehouse 13.
Before Arcane, I always imagined Eberron in the style of Clone Wars.
That tracks.

If the thread asked for a cartoon, I’d still say Eberron, with Spelljammer close behind.
