Which edition poll for October

What are you playing now?

  • Poll closed .
Early prediction: about half of us will be playing 4E, and about half of us will be playing something else. I think the D&D community is still split down the middle over 4E, pretty much.
Counter prediction: The 4E % will be a bit higher, but the total votes will be a bit lower.

so running about 60/40 in favor of 4E over other D&D editions.

It's also interesting that the percentage of anonymous votes is higher in the 4e category than in others right now too.

We learned recently that now that EN World allows you to vote anonymously, you can vote once logged out, then once again when logged in.

I'm not saying that's what's happened here though - there's no way to tell. These polls aren't scientific and really only just for fun. :)

Yeah, definitely a poll just for fun. I know of a lot more people who play PAthfinder, Hackmaster, and C&C than have voted, and go on the internet.

I think it just illustrates that this is a 4E heavy board and this poll is in a 4E topic heavy forum, so the votes are definitely slanted.

However I think the percentage is at least remaining consistent with past polls.

Yeah, I thought about that when I made my earlier prediction. ;) "To 4E or not to 4E" is a pretty serious topic around here...some people are going to be very passionate about it.

It may just be a small group of vocal and frequent posters, or there may have been a subtle shift in demographics around here as well. I suspect that some folks may have gone to other boards given how 4e heavy the news has often been, or how often the first page of the general forum is dominated by a new thread for each and every possible DDI update.

I'm not sure whether it's interesting. It's certainly untrue.

As of this moment --
- 3/13 3e voters are anonymous (23%)
- 5/18 PF voters are anonymous (28%)
- 10/65 4e voters are anonymous (15%)

I'll assume the numbers must have changed dramatically in the hour between our two posts.
