Which Miniatures company is best suited to take over the D&D pre-painted mini line?

I think Reaper has already made miniatures for the Paizo adventure paths, as I know there are minis out there for Xanesha and The Skinsaw Man from Rise of the Runelords, and I'm sure there are others as well...

So, they've already got a head start on the idea.

And they have converted their old pewter molds over to plastic molds to create the Legendary Encounters line.

And they have converted their old pewter molds over to plastic molds to create the Legendary Encounters line.

And released 25 separate miniatures in the line... in what's coming up to 4 years of time.

They will probably release another 8 sculpts in the next month or so (3 rats, 3 kobolds, 1 dwarf, 1 gnoll).

These are not numbers to get excited about.

I think they'd sell if they were no longer branded "Miniatures" and were just sold as themed packs in toy stores. I bought Toobs of dragons, dinosaurs and sharks for my son, and they would fit well alongside D&D minis. I also bought an Animal Planet-branded T-Rex that looked far better than the Huge Fiendish Tyrannosaurus. And I bought an articulated black dragon that was significantly larger than the Huge black dragon (yet it was smaller than the official Gargantuan black dragon).

Broadening the appeal of the line beyond gamers would be a great way to ensure its profitability.
