"Tearing the monsters out of the ELH and keeping just them" should be an option as well.

I don't want to live in a world without the Worm that Walks and the various abominations, but I don't want to live in a world with Union, either. Gah, the paradox!
ELH tops my list of books I'd like to get rid of, but feel nagging guilt not to. And, yeah, the monsters are the main culprit.

Hmm... very interesting that there are so few obvious loosers in this race.

So far, I'm feeling like Ghostwalk and Frostburn are gonna go bye-bye, maybe along with RotW, RotD, and Planar Handbook.

Deities... is probably the most useless one on the list, but it's another one of those books with great art I'd hate to part with.

Beyond that... it's a tough call. I keep thinking that BoED and BoVD are probably never going to get used, but people keep recommending them. And as I wrote above, I'd ditch the FR bokos completely if not for the lingering possibility of FR being used in our group; FRCS and PGtF are the absolute bare minimum, so I feel obligated to hold on to them.

Anyway, thanks for voting folks. This is pretty fun. :)

I don’t know about anyone else, but I was pretty surprised by how few books I chose. I knew there had been a bunch of “meh” WotC offerings over the last couple of years, but this exercise really brought it home.

Even a couple of books I thought I fairly liked -- Libris Mortis and Lords of Madness – in retrospect, could probably get dropped if push came to shove.

I have pretty much found most WOTC offerings to be "meh" which is why I own so few DND supplements from WOTC.

I'd probably DM more if we didn't already have four freakin' campaigns going. :)

Interestingly, I feel the opposite [about scrapping the monster books]. Monster books are always of use, as it's easier to make use of monsters; monsters are the primary D&D adventure-fodder. Character options are only of use in making characters...
Right! I getcha. But, you have to consider the use of monster stats in context of running games; if you only ever play (and not DM), then arguably the monster books are not only of no use to you, but reading them might actively encourage metagame-y behavior! ;) If you DM, even occasionally, I completely agree that you need monster stats. Whether you need the character option books for making NPCs is less clear, I guess, but certainly you need fewer of them. In that event the Libris Mortis, Lords of Madness, Dragonomicon, etc. all become more useful than the Complete series, I would think.

But you can *NEVER* have too many feats! Or PrCs! Or core races! Embrace the HERO-ization of D&D!! It is intevitable! You will be assimilated! All your feats are belong to us! :D

The day that WotC publishes the Feat Compendium (and, trust me, they will) is going to be a happy day, indeed.
