Which race fits this class or vise versa?

I have been wondering about something and I hope some might help. Which race would fit good for the Artificer class besides a human?

Warforged are good, as are dwarves.

Really, though, just about any race can make a decent artificer.

I meant Greyhawk is a different style of play than Eberron. And yes the DM only allows offically published material from WotC, or Pazio.

Gotcha. I had responded to your wanting to play something other than a gnome. Can't think of anything that isn't 3rd party though...

Maximize your search, diable device, and search, as well as drop some ranks into Craft [traps] just to round out the character. Where some kobolds wield magic naturally, your kobold(s) had no inherent gift for magic. Instead, he(they) learned to manipulate magic through study and research.

I'd play him as inquisitive, a bit naive, and a tad scatter brained.
