Which settings of the 3e era (past or present) are stayers?

And, in particular, which ones continue (and will continue) to be likely choices for porting over to other systems? Not that this is necessarily a universal measure of quality, but it does imply that the work involved is worth doing, presumably due to just how awesome the setting is.

What are the truly classic 3e, d20, or d20-based settings, in print or otherwise?

Ask 10000 gamers this (aka ENWorld), you are likely to get a ton of answers.

For me, settings I'll continue to use, possibly tweak to use Pathfinder, BoXM, and/or Fantasy Craft, could include:

Scarred Lands
Oathbound (some mechanics could use some work, but if I'm converting anyways)
Freeport (trivial as they have put out systemless books)
Second World (this is my big Fantasy Craft convert candidate.)

Midnight is my pick on this. It's an awesome setting that just can't survive a conversion to 4e. My group and I will be sticking with 3.x and (perhaps) throwing some elements from BoXM 1 & 2, and Pathfinder into the mix if they make sense for the setting.

Midnight absolutely. IMO the best realized setting for 3e.
Dawnforge. Great setting, didn't get the attention it deserved. Cannot believe Eberron beat this in WoTC's design contest.
Arcanis by Paradigm Concepts
Mythic Vistas settings by Green Ronin
Ptolus...not really my cup o' tea, but magnificently presented.

and...

The Wyrmshadows Campaign Setting

...coming soon (well within 2yrs anyway but will will be True20 and Pathfinder compatible).

Wyrmshadows

Arcanis is probably one of the best 3e settings out there. I don't think there's any official word on 4e from Paradigm Concepts, but I don't think it'll be converted given all the IP.

Blood Throne from RDP is fantastic. It's True20, and from what I last read, going to stay that way. But if you want PoL, Blood Throne has got it.

Arcanis, Oathbound, and Scarred Lands are the only real stand-outs that I can think of. Ptolus, perhaps, though it's so limited in scope as to be of less use to the typical gamer than any of the three aforementioend settings.

I will more than likely be running the new Forgotten Realms setting and Eberron as well in 4e. In addition, I am just enthralled with the Midnight setting. It seems to have a lot of Tolkienesque influence but witha dark twist and I will be converting it into Castles & Crusades.

Scarred Lands is the one 3E era setting that has appealed to me the most, and the one I look back most at for inspiration when I create my own thing.
