Which should I choose?

I'm A Banana

I'm reluctantly conceding to play in a 2e adventure next weekend. It's a one-off, so the DM has given us pre-gens. It's been a grip since I've played 2e, so I come to the community to tell me which one I should play.

Also, so that there's something here for the 3e fans, talk about how these same characters might be done better in the new edition. ;)

The characters are as follows:
My Diehard DM said:
Bragi Greyfell
Male Half-giant
Priest of Vidar, Norse god of strength and silence
Powerful healing capabilities

Gunther Basilius
Male Half-spriggan Gnome
Warrior outcast
Innate spriggan abilities

Mitsukuri Asako
Female Human
Ninja of the Green Dragon Clan
Mysterious past? + Kicking, etc.

Scampy McGee
Female Kerpca
Mage from The Great Forest
Cuddly

Garund Drouseld
Male Dwarf
Ranger of noble lineage

I'd go with this. Any GM who'd make a "cuddly" pre-gen obviously wants to see it played. And he'll probably go out of his way to keep his cutesy PC alive. :)

I think its very cool that you are accomidating this fellow.
(Its indicative of how long I've been playing 3rd that I can't imagine what these characters would be stated like. Most of these characters and races are basically going to have to be made up from scratch, no?)

Personally I pick characters that seem like they will be in the heart of the action. So if the game is located in the Great Forest then the cuddly would be good, if it involves a Nordic situation I would consider the priest, etc.. (I would never play a character who was a priest of the god of silence. You spend hours doing agonizing roleplaying and nobody notices  )

If the DM is making up all the characters I assume that there will be enough story balance to ensure that all the characters will be relivant/have something to contribute.

Having said that I would play the mage and remain leery of the "powerful kicking abilities" of the "ninja". (Is she part horse?)
Good luck!

Hehe, the group consist of me (who has a soft spot for cute and cuddly), two brothers (who also have something of a soft spot), and two girls (who have a BIG soft spot). We're all just big saps. :)
