Books of Eldritch Might 1 & 2.

As a side note (I don't want to derail this thread), I'm surprised by how many people have said "Magic of Faerun." I'm curious -- what have people found so useful with that book? After first telling my players they could use stuff from that book, I've had to DISALLOW many spells and classes from it for balance reasons (although most of magic items seem ok...)

Well, as a player I've pored over MoF for my sorcerer's spell selections (and used one or two spells -- he's still fairly low level); as a player and DM I've looked over and drawn ideas from the magic items, but never actually used any; same goes for the feats; I've also read it cover to cover. A friend of mine uses it heavily for bard spells (one of it's strong points, IMO), adding to its utility at our gaming table.

As far as balance issues, nothing has come up yet. I've heard complaints about some of the feats (like Spellfire Wielder), and I can certainly see a few of the spells being overpowred (like firebrand, which seems atrocious) -- but no one in either of the games I'm in has used any of these problem items yet. Thus far, MoF seems like a solid reference with some great ideas and a ton of useful material for spellcasters. My opinion may change over time, but that's where it stands at the moment.

I'd have to say Oriental Adventures. It's a must have book for any player; slightly less useful for DM's, in my opinion (other than for designing NPC's, of course!)

It's a great resource for Druids, and the best resource yet for Bard spells.

And just wondering what spells have you banned?

As a player, I took feats to meet the Harper Mage class with flavor changes for the campaign, which the DM originally said would be OK but then when I was high enough to qualify he knocked down the skills from 4 to 2/level and reduced the skill selections. I took the class anyway (having bought all the skill ranks and the feats) and now have a level in spelljamming wayfarer (the name for it in our campaign).
