Many homes across the country are hosting table spreads of Philly cheesesteaks and midwestern BBQ ribs today.

In the past we've chosen foods from both regions. But not this year: it was Philly all the way! We toasted with a "Citywide Special" (Jim Beam and PBR chaser - getting PBR here in Newfoundland was not guarantee, but we lucked out). Shoofly pie for desert, homemade rolls hoping to be anything close to Amoroso (but no could do), and roasted pork sandwiches with kohlrabi (EDIT: nope, broccoli rabe), red peppers, and provolone, 'cause IYKYK.
