Whirling barbarian + Avalanche Hurler

First Post
I was looking at the new barbarian powers in Primal power and I got the idea to create a whirling barbarian, but most of the powers only really operate against multiple enemies. The better barbarian at-will powers require a two-hander. My original idea was to use a warforged who had the weapons stored in his arms as well as a larger two-hander for when it needed more damage. However it was a little less optimal because It would take nearly an entire turn to retract the weapons and draw the new one. Then I remember the avalanche hurler's Quick-draw trick. Would this allow a barbarian to seemlessly switch between wielding 2 weapons and a 2-hander?

Not only would it work, but combined with the feat that allows Barbarians to treat any off-hand weapon as a thrown weapon (which can be any 1 handed weapon in the hands of whirling barbarian) the paragon path is quite helpful already, giving some powerful ranged options for the barbarian.

Said feat also requires the weapon to be one-handed and off-hand.

To the OP: yes, it would work like that. I would check out the Farbond spellblade for throwing goodness. (AV2)

As far as the 2h weapon goes, is it really that important? Just get Pressing Strike and dual-wield bastard swords. You won't be getting that much out of the two-hander unless you take an extra weapon proficiency and whirling rend does enough damage on its own. Get a farbond spellblade offhand, go avalanche hurler, you're golden.
