Whirlwind and Heavy Armor ...

I am calling a moderator ... this Reynolds non-WOTC guy just said Caliban makes mistakes !!

(He does have a good grasp... but even judges and experts make mistakes. )

Having two opponents does not already make Whirlwind attack the best option. There are times when you may want to be more assured of finishing off one opponent. Heck, I can't really see myself using WWA against only two foes unless I am fairly certain that a successful hit will finish them. I prefer to mow my way through foes one at a time, thus saving myself from taking some damage.

Yup. Another situation in which whirlwind attack is great is if you are surprised and get completely surrounded. You know that your friends will show up by the next round, and you don't have enough room to perform an overrun and get out of the circle of baddies, so what the hell, just start spinnin' and smackin' for a round or two. :)

Hehehe. I'm gonna be nice and leave that one alone. :)

EDIT: Nah. I can't resist.

Does he have a good grasp of what he's talkin' about? Yes. Is his opinion law? Not when he's wrong. :D

Didn't that happen back in '63?

Caliban can be wrong, but in almost (mind you almost!) every case where he was wrong, the rules were poorly written and vague. Or he just got a sentence he read up his butt that he couldn't let go of and lost touch with reality.

Still I trust his rulings up with the Sage's. And he at least can explain why he thinks the way he does most of the time, unlike Skip.

Caliban is also quite careful about clarifying whether what he says is clearcut from the writtten rules, his interpretation (where the rules may be confusing but he thinks he has it figured out), and his opinion (where the rules are too vague to be sure).

That is very helpful.

Too far back. He's only 30, according to him. Hell, he's hardly older than I am. We're just youngin's! :D

Well that makes 3 of us.

I'm just saying he's not often wrong, and he clairifies his answers well (opinion, by the rules, or whatever).
