Whispers of the Vampire's Blade questions (possible spoilers!)

I just got a look at the WotVB module (for the Eberron campaign setting) yesterday. It has some interesting set-piece encounters, but looks very heavy on the railroading to me, so I will probably cannibalize parts from it and throw them into a storyline of my own.

Have any of you run it? Did you run it as written, tweak it a bit or make major changes? How successful was it? Even if you haven't run it, opinions and advice would be appreciated.
