White Wolf OGL Possibility??

Just noticed on White Wolf's web site that they have finally let the cat (errrr... vampire) out of the bag (ahem... coffin) about the continuation of the Vampire game. Has anyone seen anything about the rules that are going to be used? Seen anything? The banner for it says new system but there is not mention if this is an existing system or a new one of White Wolf's design. The name as given for the "new" game is Vampire Requiem. It is supposed to release in August I assume for Gencon.

It's going to use a revised version of Storyteller.

How big of a change will there be? Akin to AD&D to D&D 3e (a flood) ... OR ... 3e to 3.5e (a tinkle)?

I'm no expert, but as I understand, we're talking more of the latter...adopting some rules that have worked in Exalted, for example.

That's the mechanics. As to the changes in the World of Darkness, the books, how the line will be developed...apparently, not much is known at this point.

I suspect the mechanica are going to be closer to Exalted, maybe even tweaked more.

The storyline? Who cares, the story died around 2000-2001 :\

The rules are being re-written, but to what extent I don't know. They will publish a core book (the unified rules system for normal humans and so forth) and then expansion books for Vampire, Werewolf, etc. The expansions will add to the core rules rather than replace them.

The storyline is going to be completely revised. It will not be the story you may know about already!

These are just things I picked up here and there from threads around the 'net, from credible sources (ie those working on it). What it looks like when it hits print may vary, but probably not by very much.

Disclaimer: I don't work for WW and the above is heresay until the revised game comes out...
