Who has Untapped Potential?

Deekin

Adventurer
I was wondering if anyone on this board has this book. It's by Dreamscarred press and seems like a great psionics expansion book. I was wondering if anyone has used it yet, and if it has caused any problems in your game?

What secrets of the mind await just over the horizon...
This book is your ticket to new psionic adventures, whether your characters have embraced your mind's potential wholeheartedly or have merely scratched the surface. For the player, this initial electronic release has a host of new options for psionic characters, ranging from more than forty new feats and fifty new powers to ten new prestige classes and three new base classes: The Devoted Psion (a specialist variant on the existing psion), the Marksman (a deadly and versatile ranged warrior) and the Society Mind (a psionic support character that lets the party operate as if they were one being). You'll also find lots of support for the existing naturally psionic races, in the form of feats and unique class levels.
For the GM, you will find an interesting selection of psionic monsters, organizations, and NPCs (along with a new NPC class to showcase psionics) for your game, along with anything a player may find useful. While the material herein is easy to incorporate into any existing game with psionic rules, it also provides a quick way to introduce psionics to a new game: The Dreamy Isle of Rajrin. This is a locale that is designed to be easy to insert to any game, and serves as a featured adventure setting for the material herein.

I'm kind of curious about the book too... If I wasn't lazy I'd just shell out the 5$ for the pdf. Does anyone know of any unbiased reviews?

I'm guessing most previews / info will be presented over in the WotC Psioncs forum.

However, I'm interested in hearing how EN Worlders enjoy the product. :)

Unbiased reviews will be difficult to come by, as noone is likely to plunk down $5 U.S. for the 'we can do it better' version of Complete Psionics who is not in the 'Psionics is golly-gee-whiz nifty-neato batman' subset.

My own review would be far too biased to be of utility to you.

That said, my review would be entirely positive. It is my current second favourite psionic related product (pretty small menu) with the XPH sitting on top. As compared with WoTC products, it ties with two non-core products for #1 on my all-time faves list (Complete Adventurer and Lords of Madness, to be precise)

I personally like it better than Bruce Cordells 'Hyperconcious', primarily because I found Hyperconcious a bit too tied to its Dream based flavour and attached module to be as generally useful to me. Both module and dream-flavour were good... but not to my personal taste.

Hey guys. Since there was a question on this, and being one of the authors, thought I'd reply that once the last minor changes that managed to sneak through the other rounds of editting are corrected, we'll actually be submitting to ENWorld's dedicated review team for the best chance we have at an unbiased review :) I fully expect to have that submitted to ENWorld within the week.

So I'd say expect an ENWorld staff review of Untapped Potential in about a month or so :)

Oh, and for those who'd like to try before they buy, we released 3 previews that include both fluff and mechanics at http://www.dreamscarredpress.com and at the WotC message boards. Included in the previews are some of the powers, feats, racial classes, and monsters that are included in the book.
