Who invented the Scarred Lands?

Geoffrey

First Post
Gary Gygax created Greyhawk.

Dave Arneson created Blackmoor.

Ed Greenwood created the Forgotten Realms.

etc.

So who created the Scarred Lands?

Was is from the get-go a group effort? Or did one or two somebodies create it and then hand it off/have it taken away from them? Stephan and Stewart Wieck are the authors of the Scarred Lands Gazetteer: Ghelspad (which was the second Scarred Lands product published). Are the Wiecks the original creators? I have paged through a few later Scarred Lands products, and the Wiecks are not mentioned in the credits.

What's the story on the Scarred Lands?

I believe--but don't quote me on this, because I can't swear to it--that it was originally based on the personal campaign world of Steve and Stewart Wieck, co-founders and current owners of White Wolf. Obviously, it diverged greatly from their original setting the instant other people began writing/developing it, but I'm pretty sure that was the original source.

Nightfall had to binge on Anime for at time. Sorry.

And yes according to sources I recall, Ari is correct. Steve and Steward used their own campaign setting as the basis for Scarred Lands before refinements were made. And by refinements I mean before I got involved. :p :)

Ultimate gamer dream...make your own world a campaign and sell it. :)

Well besides that vast majority of my posts here in at EN World, all of which I distributed from info gleamed from most SL sources, I did work on the Player's Guide to Rangers and Rogues, as well as a few spell contributions for Player's Guide to Wizards, Bards and Sorcerers. I also had a monster contribution for CC 3.

Uhm I believe there was a decent on on S&SS' website. I'd have to look over my previous SL links.

Oh yeah, Dave Broham also made me an official NPC, Bl'ayne Nightfall.
