Who is interested in playing a 100th level adventure anyway.

Would you be interested in playing a 100th level adventure?

A couple of "100th level" threads, lately, incite me to ask this question and create this poll:

Basically, would you be interested in playing a 100th level adventure at least once?

Do you think it's feasible at all?

What are your suggestions for making an interesting 100th level adventure: general DMing advice, plot ideas, types of monsters to use, type of traps to use, ideas of encounters, events, etc. Anything! (If there is enough answer, we could even create such a module as an ENworld community's endeavour).

(By the way, don't suggest the old module H4 - The Throne of Bloodstone, since it was utter crap.)

I'm not sure I can comprehend what it means to be 100th-level. I don't think I would be interested. Not that I don't like epic, high-level adventures/campaigns, but 100th-level is bordering on absurd, IMHO.

Not really... I think there is very little point in such an adventure, and not a huge difference compared to let's say a 30th level adventure.

Probably not. A player would probably need a few hours only to choose all his feats and equipment. Then he would be barely able to use 5-10% of all that stuff, since it will be nearly impossible to remember it all. A master would probably became insane in the process of running it :p

Well, it could all be reduced to a mere scaled-up high level play. If one would only choose passive feats for instance, that just add bonuses to everything (but without any tactical decisions in-game to use the feats), and the DM would do the same to monsters and limit the adventure to combat, I suppose it could work. But then what would be the real point in playing 100th level if it's just a +50 to everything?

I understand the reluctance of most readers...yet... I think we should try to write all together, a monstrously epic adventure that would try to not be just a +50 to every DC and +30d6 to all damage done.

I am still hoping for clues. Anyone an idea of trap, monster tactics, absurd plot, room of a dungeon, whatever?

Oh well, I am hijacking my own thread. :uhoh: :heh:

I'm not sure how well the system would work at that level - especially if the DM isn't familiar with this level of power.

I think if you were to do such a thing you'd have to base the adventure entirely around role-playing issues. That is, combat-based encounters would be secondary (at best) and the "adventure" would center around character interaction. Something like trying to convince people to stop a war (or something) without coercion. No threats, bribes or wanton displays of power allowed.

But then, again, why bother making the characters so high level?

I think the main interest of playing such kind of characters, is to play Earth-shaking uber powered heroes who can tackle demon-prince and prevent the galaxy to eventually collapse into a black hole.

Personally I am not adverse at trying it, if only as a tribute to my munchkin teenage days. However, running it in 3.5e can only be a nightmare... :\

I think the thing is that if you tried to do your standard adventuring story with such characters, you'd fall flat on your face. You'd want to aim for something else - something almost more fairy-tale like, where the physical abilities of the character are not nearly so important as the choices they make....
