I think Green Ronin has shown that they can deliver, time & time again. Solid products, all told.

I did like Privateer when the first book came out, but c'mon - what did it take, 9 months to get to Part 3? Didn't they originally plan to have 5 or 6 out by now? While I respect the fact that they've slowed things down to maintain the quality, perhaps we'll be lucky to see 3 or 4 releases in a year from them, so no breakout there.

Not a huge fan of the Mongoose stuff. I know art is subjective, and what's one man's trash is another man's treasure, and don't judge a book by the cover and all that, BUT - I just hate the Mongoose covers. Just me, I know, but I just think they look like "highschool kids done good." Also, I get angry at them because they've just got too much coming out! I know that's odd, but I don't have the $$ to spend on 4 books a month from different publishers, let alone one.

Now, if you could combine Privateer's quality with Mongoose's output and get a really really good book every month or even every other month, I'd back that up!

As far as the Sword & Sorcery gang:

I think the main SSS branch has already shown its abilities. While Creature Collection may not have been rock solid rules-wize, it certainly seemed to be everywhere and sold well, I'm sure. Their stuff has been getting better, too, and I love the imagination poured into each product.

Last year, I would have said Necromancer was the top dogs for them, but their schedule seemed to disappear. Like Privateer, weren't they supposed to have 10 books out by now? Some stuff hasn't been heard of for a long while, and doesn't have a release date. Still, I'm buying everything that they put out because it's exactly what my occasional gaming group needs - fun!

Monte will do well, because he's Monte. I've bought all 3 PDFs, but might start waiting until the print releases from now on.

Fiery Dragon seems to have come out of the gate running this year, with PC's adventure and then a Monte Cook adventure. Plus more psionics stuff and counters from Klaus. I think the stuff they put out last year got better as they went along, in terms of looks and presentation, and I think they'll break big this year, maybe being as important to S&S as Necromancer.

Dark Portal and Thunderhead put out good stuff, but don't seem to have a buzz away from these boards very much. That'll change, though.

I like the Atlas stuff a lot. It's funny, I don't see fan boys for them like some of the others, but their stuff is very dependable and solid.

I think, like Green Ronin, Atlas will just be taken for granted as a solid publisher - they'll do very well, but never get the raving posts that some of the others seem to get.

Wow, I really drifted around there...

Yeah we are but babes in the business of publishing over at Thunderhead, Interludes was very well recieved, adn Bluffside as a whispering of excitement about the place.... But like you say it'll all change real soon, I'm privy to what is on the TG product schedule... and it s looking mighty fine......

Watch this space..!
Well actually, probably better yo watch this space

Yup

I agree with my TG brother, DKUK. Being privy to inside info, TG is going to make a huge splash in the d20 pool this year. Bluffside will be a great start...but wait till you see what we have coming after it. WOW....

:)

different approach

I will be honest, I am thrilled to have made it on the list and thank everyone who is talking about us, and we are building steam, heck Interludes:BeTB has only been in stores a few weeks!!!! Available on-line before then. But yes we will be having source rich, well done products with personality and that will make us a (I hope) solid company in the market. We have gotten rave reviews on Interludes: BEtB and think we will have the same with Bluffside: City on the Edge, we already announced the same packaged idea for the desert for 2nd Qtr with Interludes: Sands of Pain and Dry Lands: Empire of the Dragon Sands, with more to come, so while more people may know the other names, I for one am honored to have made it on this list--I consider myself a winner just for that <pats self on back> :D
Thanks and well met.

Fantasy Flight Games are going places. Their DragonStar line will be amazing I think and their other books all have long-term selling potential - Traps and Treachery (and T&TII), Seafarer's Handbook, Mythic Races and Spells and Spellcraft all look great....

Actually all of these are pretty good.

Mongoose and Sword and Sorcery studios seem to be producing a lot of interesting stuff overall.

Off the list I recomend checking out Eden Studios Eden Oddesy line.
There are umm .....Modular and not tied to any world in particular which is a plus for me and they seem to mix some nice crunchy bits into the modules.

I gave "Akashia Thief of Time" to a buddy for Christmas and he seemed to like it a lot.

Yeah Necromancer is definately having more going on than people suspect.

Tomb for example is on time, and soon people will get to see the second part of Maze. Both SHOULD be very good. Then of course is upcoming release of the mega product in my mind next to Bard's Gate, Necropolis. This one will be FUN! :)

Still have to wait and see won't we folks?

Well, if I would pick just one publisher, it would be Green Ronin. I have been consistently pleased with their products, and it seems like they have a VERY ambitious product schedule for 2002. I don't think GR is going to disappoint this year.
