I just wated to post a vote for Thunderhead Games. so that they get a vote of support from someone who is not on their payroll! ;) I am so excited about Bluffside that I have already started saving my nickles and dimes so I can get it when it comes out! If Interludes was any indication... look out!

Wow, animosity seems to have reared its ugly head since last time I checked this thread...

Anyway,
I am surprised by how few people mentioned Troll Lord Games. I know their products so far have not been the best but they are one of only two publishers to have the two of the creators of D&D writing for them. You know the quality and value of the products will be some of the best for 2002 because it simply has to be. I thought they would be the one to watch next year because I expect a huge change from them.

I didn't vote for Necromancer (the other company with Gygax and Kuntz) because they are already at the top of the d20 biz. I didn't vote for Sword & Sorcery because they are already well liked. I didn't vote for Kenzer Co. because I already expect them to be one of the top producers of D&D material, whether you call it official or d20, they even have Ed Greenwood writing material for them. There are several other companies that are currently doing a wonderful job and I can easily list half a dozen companies that I have bought products from. But the one that I expect to make a big splash in 2002 that seemed to be non-existent in 2001 in Troll Lord Games. I also expect to make several purchases from the likes of Kenzer and Necromancer and Green Ronin and Atlas and Fiery Dragon and Privateer and Mystic Eye...

I guess I was just thinking when I voted: I don’t really watch the leaders, I look for the little guy who will eventually tie or pass up the ones currently in the front.

Dave Kenzer was very gracious in his apology in the d20 Publisher's ENnies thread; let's chalk it up to a misunderstanding, and leave it at that. Anyways, Kenzer & Co. has cool stuff out there, and I'm thrilled that they're making an effort to expand their internet presence! It's good having them here.

Dave, there's usually a Kalamar thread of two floating around; feel free to jump in. In addition, you're welcome to bounce ideas off of board members. If you haven't already seen it, Bill Clark has his Kalamar story hour right about here.

I vote for Paradigm Concepts. Thier stuff was on time and had enough of a twist, yet was also traditional enough for the main crowd.

Right Dave,
But even though I believe Troll Lords will be the publisher to watch it is still the Kalamar stuff that you and your staff are going to put out that I look forward to the most. Of course, that is not the subject of this topic so maybe I shouldn't say anything. I would hate to get flamed for making a statement like that :p

one reason that not many people mentioned bastion, i think, is that their first offering e-minions was recieved in a fairly luke warm fashion...haven't heard much about minions either.

plus, their books are really ugly looking...

I Say, Fellows!

Can I get three votes in this matter? After all, work of mine in D20 is being published by:

Mongoose
Necromancer
Troll Lord Games

As for someone noticing a bit of acromony in this thread, just chalk it up to a bunch of folks from the game publishing field jumping onto the boards to post on this matter :D

Now, what say we do a poll as to which D20 publisher has the silliest name? Fortunately, Hekaforge hasn't entered a product in the arena yet, so we're not eligible...

I knew it! Ballot stuffing!!!! Are we sure this poll isn't being hosted in Florida! ;)

I personally had a harder time trying to decide who to look for in the coming year, being in Germany I don't often get a real-world view of what products are coming out or available and even when I know what's coming from the scoops on the boards here it is a roll of the dice to see if it ever makes it to Germany.

I voted for Bastion Press mainly because in conjunction with a friend of mine we have submitted a number of things, and I also know some of the others who are doing work for them. I am looking forward to the upcoming releases (if they make it here) because I feel that the material (like Minions) will contain interesting and original creations that will be a valued addition to anyone's collection. That's not to say no one else does that, but I have to go with what I know! :D
