Who should be the next Bond, one of the actors mentioned above or someone else? Let your voice be heard.

Ioan Gruffudd played Lancelot in the King Arthur movie. Jason Isaacs played Lucius Malfoy in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Mr. Darling/Captian Hook in Peter Pan. I'm assuming people know who the other actors are. :)

All we're suggestions on the other thread, except for two. I threw Ewan McGregor and Sean Bean in for the heck of it. :p

Cheers!

p.s. What would people say to a female Bond? Is that too out there?

Tough call. I think that Eric Bana, Clive Owen, and Jason Isaacs would all do a good job as Bond. In the end, though, I picked Eric Bana.

It's actually a possibility. There have been rumors for a while now of making a movie based on Jinx, who was Halle Berry's character from Die Another Day. I don't know if I'd consider the character interesting enough to base a movie around, however.

There has been some talk on radio over here about Hugh Jackman.

Ugh. Am I the only one who sees the possibilities of Russel Crowe? He's older, and probably the only guy on the list that I can picture as being as um, misogynistic and still likable as the Bond character seems to thrive on. That being said, I really REALLy did the idea of Christian Bale doing Bond. A little young and pretty maybe, but I think he's clarified the role of "licensed to kill" already in some of his roles already. Refined, dangerous, a bit more on the edge than even Connery. Plus he wouldn't have to lose weight to fit the monkey suits right like Crowe would.

I think the idea of Eric Bana as Bond is awful. I just don't think the guy can act.

The next Bond should be...

A long time in coming.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Bond fan. I don't want to see the franchise end. But I do think it should go on hiatus for a little while. MGM has completely lost sight of what Bond's supposed to be, and they've turned the movies into generic, blow-em-up action flicks.

Bond's not machine guns. He's a single shot--probably from a darkened corner, with a silencer--from a Walther PPK. I love Brosnan in the role, and he's done an excellent job with what the writers are giving him. But frankly, they haven't been giving him Bond. They've been giving him Generic Action Character #4429-B.

The Bourne Identity was more Bond-like, in many respects, than the last three Bond movies. :(

(And when they do cast the part, be it now or in 10 years, it should be a relative unknown. And he should be no younger than his lower 30s, minimum.)

Where have you been? The last Bond movie like the one you described was From Russia With Love, which was released over 40 years ago, and was only the second Bond film.

Jumped the Shark real quick, huh?

I voted for Other. Because, as I've said before:

Idris Elba is the man.
